Holistic Medicine Update
Jordan Kocen, DVM, MS Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist

Dr. Jordan Kocen has been invited to speak for the Virginia Academy of Small
Animal Medicine. He will present a half day lecture on Holistic medicine at
the May 6th meeting in Roanoke, VA. Dr. Kocen plans to present an overview
of Holistic therapies and will lecture on Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal
Medicine.

Interest in Alternative therapies continues to grow around the country.
Several practices highlighted in Veterinary Economics provide Acupuncture and
Homeopathy along with conventional medical therapies. Also, look for
presentations on Alternative therapies at several national meetings,
including the North American Veteri-nary Conference. Several textbooks and
publications for the general public are now available.

The Holistic Medicine department at SouthPaws continues to maintain an active
schedule of appointments. At this time, there is a wait for new
