Personal Facts
Dr. Antkowiak is a native of Buffalo NY and avidly loves cheering for his hometown teams. As a matter of fact, he remains a Buffalo Bills season ticket holder despite the 450 mile distance.
He has, however, made Washington his new home and has resided in the neighborhood of Capitol Hill since 2000. A DC United and Washington Nationals fan, Matt enjoys roaming with his dog Brehmer through local parks, playing soccer and softball in leagues downtown and looking for the best venues for live jazz.
A member of the SouthPaws intern class of 1997-98, Dr. Antkowiak assumed leadership of the SouthPaws Internship program in 2005. He is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation, scheduling and selection of the new doctors to the program.
He's working on improving his Spanish skills as he's been participating annually in a spay/neuter clinic on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. A self proclaimed "travel bug" and certified diver, Dr. Antkowiak has recently visited Germany for World Cup Soccer and has been diving in New Zealand, Australia, and Tonga. |
